Lindsay Lohan is ready to get her career

LOS ANGELES - Lindsay Lohan is ready to get her career back on track following her tumultuous break-up with DJ Samantha Ronson.

“I feel like I want to get my career back in shape,” the actress told Ellen DeGeneres during a candid interview for Thursday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” “When people are together so much, it gets really difficult and you forget who you are because you’re more concerned about being with the other person. I think it’s been really good for me. I thought it would be so much harder and it hasn’t been.”

In Lohan’s first TV interview since her split with Ronson, the actress revealed that the break-up came out of the blue.

“I think that break-ups are hard when you’re a private person,” DeGeneres said.

“Or when you don’t know you’re breaking up… really weird,” Lohan responded.

“Did you not know you were breaking up?” DeGeneres quickly asked.

“I had no idea what was going on. I just hadn’t seen her in like, a week. She like, disappeared,” Lohan said.

The actress also revealed that the news of Ronson’s family — including the DJ's twin sister Charlotte — visiting a local police station to ask about a restraining order after the break-up, came as a shock.

“I was like, ‘I don’t understand,’” Lohan said. “It came out of nowhere. I’ve supported Charlotte and I’ve never done anything for people to assume I’m dangerous.”

As previously reported on Access Hollywood, Lohan and Ronson broke up in early April after a tumultuous weekend that saw the actress reportedly banned from a launch party for Charlotte Ronson’s newest JCPenney line, which was held at the Chateau Marmont hotel.

“That whole night was just really tough and… it came out of nowhere,” Lohan said before adding that she and her ex are back on speaking terms. “Samantha and I are friends. We’re talking.”

Lohan also said that the tabloid and Internet interest in the end of their romance has “gotten completely blown out of proportion.”
