American Idol Tweaks Judging Process Again

As the old adage goes: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. American Idol will go back to its usual way of judging the contestants—each judge gives a critique—on Tuesday night's performance show, according to a set source.

Last week, in an attempt to keep from going over its allotted time as it had the week before, the producers opted for "judging in pairs," in which Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul would judge one contestant, and Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi would judge the next contestant, and so on.

Fans were not pleased...

Across the Internet, Idol fans lit up the message boards against the new way of judging. Watch With Kristin's own poll showed 68.2 percent of the fans voting against voting in pairs and saying they want to hear what all four judges have to say about each performance.

That said, fans who took our poll also voted on which judge they can do without, and the results were surprising (Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi, neck in neck?!)

Which judge can you do without?
Kara DioGuardi, 44.3 percent
Paula Abdul, 35.7 percent
Randy Jackson, 17.4 percent
Simon Cowell, 2.6 percent

Are you happy the show's returning to normal on Tuesday?
