Pitt and Jolie, who are living on Long Island while she films the CIA espionage thriller "Salt," were joined by daughters Zahara, 4, and Shiloh, 2.

"They walked around all the departments and picked up a couple of things," Ahmed said. She said store management was very concerned for the couple's privacy, and that other shoppers kept a respectful distance.

The superstar duo posed for pictures and autographs at the checkout line, Ahmed said. The excursion lasted about 30 minutes.

According to photos that have surfaced on a variety of blogs, Pitt and Jolie look better when they go grocery shopping than you do: he donned a flattering newsboy cap for the jaunt, she wore impossibly tight beige pants and black knee-high boots.

While Jolie goes to work all day, Pitt's been exploring the Island. Celebrity tabs have reported he made a java run to an Oyster Bay Dunkin' Donuts on April 8.

A few days earlier, mom and dad spent a half hour picking up books and magazines at the Borders Books in Syosset with Maddox, 7, and Pax, 5.

Pitt's also a fixture in Shiloh's preschool classes, reports OK! "He sits in the corner of the classroom because Shiloh starts to cry whenever he goes, a source told the magazine."
