Troubled actress-singer Lindsay Lohan is looking for a lover

Troubled actress-singer Lindsay Lohan is looking for a lover who does not mind her alleged alcoholism or other repelling habits, she revealed in a mock Internet dating profile.

Lohan, whose recent breakup with her lesbian partner Samantha Ronson has been covered by the media, stars in a dating profile posted online Monday on FunnyOrDie.com that parodies similar videos created for matchmaking company eHarmony, reports the China Daily online.

"I would define my personality as creative, a bit of a night owl... I'm a workaholic, a shopaholic and according to the state of California, an alcoholic as well as a threat to all security guards if they work at hotels," she said.

Lindsay Lohan seems to have turned a new leaf after the split with DJ Samantha Ronson and dating numerous Hollywood celebrities as the actress has now found love in a web entrepreneur. She is dating 36-year-old Ben Holz, a Seattle based entrepreneur who is currently holidaying with her in Hawaii, reported Ace

Will you miss Matt Giraud on American Idol 2009?

Last night was the last time that Matt Giraud would be saved, as he was voted of American Idol 2009. Fans of Giraud will be angry that he has gone, but after receiving the lowest votes from the 47 million votes that came in, the young hopeful had used all of his lives up.

This week not only was Matt Giraud singing, he was also dancing along, as he seemed to be enjoying Rat Pack night. I am glad that he was, as I have to say that it had to be one of the worst weeks yet.

The show is going from worse to worse each season, and I have to wonder if Matt Giraud had a lucky escape. The show used to produce some great talent, but it looks as though there is not much left in America.

Happy Birthday to Ashley Dupre

Remember her? Ashley Dupre, a.k.a. Ashley Alexandra Dupre, a.k.a. Ashley Youmans, a.k.a. Ashley Rae Maika DiPietro, a.k.a. Kristen, turns 24 today.\ What a ho. The high-class prostitute (not an oxymoronic term at all) who banked $4,300 an hour to performs sex acts on former N.Y. State Governor Eliot Spitzer, hasn't been heard from in some time. She's probably trying to get her life together. Or

Kristin Cavallari poses with Pup

Fans of The Hills may recall that in a previous season, Lauren Conrad got a puppy named Chloe that played a role in Audrina Patridge moving out. Waaay back in the day, Heidi Montag's ex, Jordan Eubanks, got her a dog that she quickly got tired of and vanished to some undisclosed location. PETA, get on that one. HiFi Bar, Gigs of the Week - April 30th

Before I delve into this weekend's gigs, I thought I'd share a few quick and disorganised thoughts on Brisbane's newest mid-sized venue, The HiFi. Of course it opened last night with a show featuring The Drones, Witch Hats and locals Hits. The bands were all pretty good to great, but they're not really what I want to discuss. The venue is located in what was previously the Pavilion in West End, but it's barely recognisable from that old establishment. The HiFi is split into a main room that holds 1200 audience members and a front bar known as 'Vinyl' (that particular part of the venue is yet to be completed, but apparently it holds 150 people and may be used to put on smaller shows - whether smaller local bands can use it is so far unclear). The main room is fairly large, roughly cubic but with multiple floor levels so that it's quite easy to get a decent vantage point from anywhere in the venue (that said, a friend of mine who is about 6'4" told me that from near the bar you couldn't see a thing). The room doesn't exactly have much character, it was built with sound and ease of viewing in mind and most of the decour is pretty modern - it has nothing on the similarly sized Tivoli in this respect, though is no worse than The Arena. Despite this apparent focus on sound quality one of the major complaints I've heard is the poor sound, and certainly I found this to be a problem myself last night. The first two bands sounded muddy and undefined, while things improved marginally for the headliners. It perhaps wasn't as bad as The Arena could sometimes be, especially in terms of the occasional feedback storms that plagued that venue on occasions, but that's not necessarily much of a compliment.

As for other factors, it was kind of difficult to tell what the venue will be like in the future due to the fact that things were obviously not finished (in addition to the Vinyl Bar being boarded up only one bathroom was operational in the main venue, for example). Apparently the bar staff were operating on only the most basic training from the venue and so any slowness on their part can be somewhat forgiven. Drink prices were kind of high anyway so after my first drink I never returned to the bar. There were a LOT of photographers and video cameramen in the crowd who occasionally got in the way, but I imagine this was just because it was opening night, though the venue has stated that many shows will be videoed and a feed will be shown in the Vinyl Bar so maybe the video cameramen will be a somewhat permanent fixture? I guess we'll find out soon enough.

On the plus side it has decent air-conditioning which will be a big help in summer, and frankly it's just nice to be seeing a gig somewhere other than the valley for once.

Anyway...

Thursday 30th:
Modern Love: Rocketsmiths, Hungry Kids of Hungary, Nikko, Mass Migration (final show) @ The Zoo - 4zzzFM fundraiser. Tickets are half price for subscribers.

Friday 1st:

Saturday 2nd:
New Jack Rubys, Hotel Motel, Skritch, Sabrina @ The Troubadour
Twist Oliver Twist, Last Dinosaurs, Wipedoubt, Damasyria, Arado, Kybosh, Beth Lucas @ The Globe
Moon Jog @ Ric's Bar

Simon Cowell may walk away from American Idol

Simon Cowell has publicly declared that he may walk away from American Idol when his contract expires after next season, hinting (repeatedly), "Maybe it's time for a change." That should have executives quaking in their loafers, as Cowell is the face of a show that's not only No. 1 in all of television, it's essentially Fox's ATM. (Portfolio estimated it brings in $6.4 billion a year for the network.) And though ratings are down 12 percent since this time last year, it's pretty much the only show that can consistently nab 25 million viewers. "It's like if Alan Alda left M*A*S*H or Ted Danson left Cheers," says Horizon Media analyst Brad Adgate. "How do you replace someone who's the essence of why people watch?" (Fox and Cowell declined to comment.)

The snark-master certainly has viewer sentiment on his side, and season 7 finalist Michael Johns agrees, telling EW that Idol sans Simon would be like "a golf tournament without Tiger Woods."

While Cowell has threatened to quit Idol before -- even over seemingly minor matters, like the season 6 Sanjaya debacle -- this time seems different. After seven years of intercontinental commuting between the L.A. Idol set and his London-based pet projects -- The X Factor and the increasingly buzzed-about Britain's Got Talent -- the 49-year-old megamogul sounds exhausted. And he certainly doesn't need the cash: Britain's recent Sunday Times "Rich List" pegged his net worth at a recession-proof $175.2 million.

Moreover, he's hinted that he's itching to bring The X Factor to the U.S., which his current deal prohibits. But that's hardly a surefire move. Yes, Cowell struck gold with AI and America's Got Talent (for which he's an exec producer). But remember the other reality shows he produced here? You know, American Inventor, Celebrity Duets, and Cupid? We don't either. And the prospect of finding a new monster hit gets dicier every day, Adgate says: "That's not an indictment of Simon Cowell -- it's more a comment on the TV landscape. I think there's only one American Idol."

Week 7 Power Rankings: 'AMERICAN IDOL' 8

What makes this year’s crop of Idols so interesting is that everyone left is actually pretty good.
“Rat Pack Week” made that clear, as each of the contestants made a play to energize a fanbase. Adam Lambert played the drama of “Feeling Good” expertly, using the control of his voice and his impressive range to sell a unique interpretation of the classic. Kris Allen’s “The Way You Look Tonight,” as Simon Cowell pointed out, was predictably nice and innocent – perhaps the polar opposite of Lambert’s more, um, worldly delivery. And Allison Iraheta, who maybe wouldn’t have to pretend to be nice and innocent, vamped up “Someone to Watch Over Me,” singing it well, though a little too eager to show off vocally instead of telling the story of the song, something mentor Jamie Foxx, who proved to be a pretty insightful coach, tapped into.
Foxx’s advice for Matt Giraud was right on target. However, Giraud couldn’t quite carry it out. Lowering the key was the right move, but Giraud really couldn’t handle the lower notes of “My Funny Valentine” properly.
Danny Gokey’s “Come Rain or Come Shine” was an uneven mess, moving from a boring middle to an over-sung end in a matter of measures. Of course, Gokey supporters (including the judges) will eat that up. Never mind if he believes it or if it was stylistically good. Winning at all costs is what matters to Gokey and seeing that drive appeals to a lot of his fanbase. That probably makes him the safest one of the bunch tonight.

THE RANKINGS

Adam Lambert, “Feeling Good”
Kris Allen, “The Way You Look Tonight”
Allison Iraheta, “Someone to Watch Over Me”
Matt Giraud, “My Funny Valentine”
Danny Gokey, “Come Rain or Shine”

Jennifer Garner arrives at the Luxe Hotel in Los Angeles

WHEN Hollywood actress Jennifer Garner arrives at the Luxe Hotel in Los Angeles Garner apologises in advance if Jennifer Garner doesn't make sense today. Jennifer Garner sleep-deprived and has been ever since she gave birth to her second daughter, Seraphina, in January. Her eldest daughter, Violet, is three.

You wouldn't know it to look at her. Jennifer Garner looks radiant. In fact, in her gold dress and matching gold sandals ("I'm very bad with clothes," Jannfer Garner says when asked who the designer is), Garner looks like she's spent the morning being pampered. The actress laughs. She's actually been organising the children (feeding them, being thrown up on) so dad, Ben Affleck, wouldn't feel overwhelmed when she went off to work for a few hours.

Garner is here to promote her new film, Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past. It's also her birthday. She's 37 again, not that you'd know it to look at her. Her Ghosts co-star Matthew McConaughey is shocked by the revelation. "Thirty-seven, wow," he whistles. Garner smiles politely. She's known for being one of the nicest people you could ever meet so she doesn't poke him in the ribs even though he clearly meant: "Wow, you look good for your age."

The actress says cheerily: "Thirty-seven's great. I mean, everyone looks at you like: 'Oh gosh, you're on the slope to 40, are you OK?'

"First of all, 40 is no big deal any more. Did you see that Cindy Crawford shoot? [The one where 43-year-old Crawford is wearing little more than eyeliner and some strategically placed shaving foam.] Anyway, it's kind of busting the myth of 40. I love my life. I like it more than I ever have."

There's a lot to like. There's her four-year marriage to Affleck, which the naysayers predicted would never last. Garner's first marriage, to actor Scott Foley, ended in 2004 after 3 1/2 years. The family just moved into a new $17 million house in the upmarket suburb of Pacific Palisades. Neighbours include Adam Sandler, Steven Spielberg and Whoopi Goldberg. Then there's her career, which, like her family, is also blossoming.

In her latest film she plays one of the ex-girlfriends of committed bachelor Connor Mead, played by McConaughey. When they run into each other on the eve of Connor's younger brother's wedding, Garner's character, Jenny, is determined to make sure Connor and his cynical views on love don't ruin everything. But she's fighting a losing battle, which is why the ghosts of his former girlfriends decide it's time to show him the error of his womanising ways, a la Ebenezer Scrooge. Director Mark Waters chose Garner over rom-com regulars like Jennifer Aniston or Kate Hudson. It's a massive compliment because it's not what Garner is known for. She's an action girl, the woman who directors go to when they want 178 centimetres of lean, mean, sexy fighting machine. It's been like that for Garner ever since she was cast as CIA agent Sydney Bristow in Alias.From:www.smh.com.au

Two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks was honored

NEW YORK — On Monday night, two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks was honored for a lifetime of career accomplishments at the Film Society of Lincoln Center's annual gala tribute.

When MTV News caught up with the 52-year-old actor on the red carpet, Hanks was at a loss for words. "I don't know what to say," he confessed. "It's the capital of the world and we blocked enough of the streets. I'm at a loss for understanding how it happened."

He may not have known exactly how to express his appreciation, but Hanks was still in a great mood, at one point busting into a quick rendition of Jackson Browne's "Linda Paloma," before escorting his wife, the actress Rita Wilson, inside the closed-door event.

The A-listers out in force to support Hanks were effusive in their praise of the Hollywood powerhouse.

"My favorite Tom Hanks anything was always 'Bosom Buddies,' " Julia Roberts told MTV News, referring to the early '80s sitcom in which Hanks made his name. "I texted my best friend this morning who I've been best friends with since I was a girl and said, 'I'm doing this thing with Tom Hanks tonight. What do you think I should say?' And she goes, 'You should talk about our utter devotion to 'Bosom Buddies.' "

Look, I'm being paid a lot of money to be here tonight," Charlize Theron said, smiling, before going on to recall working with Hanks on her first major film. "I opened my script the other day of 'That Thing You Do!,' which I was honored to be in, and he wrote in it, 'No matter what, I will always claim to have discovered you.' "

Other stars in attendance included Steven Spielberg, Sally Field, Ron Howard, Christopher Walken and Adrien Brody. In past years, the Film Society has honored Alfred Hitchcock, Elizabeth Taylor, Martin Scorsese, Diane Keaton and Meryl Streep.From:www.mtv.com/movies

“The Golden Girls” and “Maude” died early this morning of cancer

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 4/25/09 — Beatrice Arthur, the sharp-witted actress best known for her work on “The Golden Girls” and “Maude” died early this morning of cancer, family spokesperson Dan Watt said, and declined to give further details. She was 86.
An iconoclast, Arthur’s roles on stage and television shared a common thread. They helped to raise women’s profile in society during an era when doing so was a career risk.
Rue McClanahan who played Blanche Devereaux on “The Golden Girls” issued the following statement about Bea’s passing, “37 years ago she showed me how to be very brave in playing comedy. I’ll miss that courage and I’ll miss that voice.”
In 1972, after making waves as the liberal cousin of blue-collar Archie Bunker (Carroll O’Connor), CBS executives took note of the “new girl,” offering Bea Arthur her own show. Hardly a novice, Arthur was 50, had won a Tony Award, and had in her words, “done so much off-Broadway, on Broadway, but they said, `Who is that girl?’” “Maude” was a hit and Arthur won an Emmy for her outstanding performance in 1977.
“She was an incredible actress and a woman I will miss, and I think everyone else will,” said Bud Yorkin, producer of “Maude” with partner Lear.
“The Golden Girls” was another surprise success for Arthur, running from 1985-1992. The comedy series, about three retirees who share a Miami apartment, struck a chord and was a hit even among a youth and consumer-centered television landscape.
A similar character to Maude, Arthur played Dorothy, the smart and sometimes caustic daughter to Estelle Getty. Unconcerned about the two characters being too much alike, Arthur told an interviewer at the time, “Look, I’m 5-feet-9, I have a deep voice and I have a way with a line. What can I do about it? I can’t stay home waiting for something different. I think it’s a total waste of energy worrying about typecasting.”
Arthur won her second Emmy for her role on “The Golden Girls” and the show won 10 in its long run.
In 2008, Arthur was inducted in the TV Academy Hall of Fame.
Arthur is survived by her sister, sons and two granddaughters. No funeral services are planned.

Tony JAA's next movie "Ong bak 3"...

Remember what was said by Sia Jieang in the Gala Premiere video posted on News.mcot.net, about Tony JAA's next movie "Ong bak 3"...

He says that Ong Bak 3 will be full of more daredevil fightings between Dan Chupong and Tony JAA. Moreover, in Ong Bak 3 Tien's legs and arms (Tien is Tony's character) will be torturely damaged.
Consequently, Tien has to fight with some sort of boneless action. This is homework for Panna Rittikrai and Tony JAA to create the action for us to see what it will look like to fight in the state of boneless condition.

The Set of Khmer Palace which is already seen by the press is now fortified for its further usage. It will not be considered worthwhile if it is removed. Moreover, there is now a list of Ong Bak 3 casts including the name of Dan Chupong and Nui Kessarin who will be in the same set with Tony JAA.

'Mission Hollywood' airs in Germany starting in June.Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the teaser trailer for "Twilight"

Enough action, drama and intrigue to make them feel like they're trapped inside a reality show. Now, they're finally getting one to call their own.

Plans have been announced for a new reality show called "Mission Hollywood," which will feature 12 women competing in an "American Idol"-like competition to see who is the best actress. The prize? A role in one of the upcoming "Twilight" sequels.

But before you send in your headshot, here's the bad news: "Mission Hollywood" is a German show that will air on a network called RTL. And the young beauties have already been selected. And it likely won't even air here in the States. As a frustrated German might say: Verdammt!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show will premiere in prime time June 8. Each week, the actresses will compete by acting out classic scenes from films such as "Gone With the Wind," "Dirty Dancing," "Misery" and "9 1/2 Weeks." Following the "Idol" blueprint, the actors will be judged by a panel of celebrities, including German superstar (and "Inglourious Basterds" actor) Til Schweiger, acting coach Bernhard Hiller and a third slot filled with a rotating celebrity; Carmen Electra has already signed on to make an appearance.

Some details remain vague at this time, such as which "Twilight" sequel the chosen contestant would appear in or which role would be awarded. With the much-anticipated "New Moon" already under way for a November release, it seems highly doubtful that director Chris Weitz would be able to get the "Mission Hollywood" winner into his film. Instead, the obligation may fall to newly appointed "Eclipse" filmmaker David Slade, who should begin rolling cameras in late 2009/ early 2010.

Another wild card would seem to be the famously fickle "Twilight" fanbase, who take their acting quite seriously and have thus far embraced the series' cast. Past reality stars-turned-actors such as Colleen Haskell, Trishelle Cannatella and Kyle Brandt haven't exactly set Hollywood on fire with their thespian skills — although a handful of stars including Jacinda Barrett and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson have managed in recent years to overcome the reality-show stigma.

The 2009 MTV Movie Awards are coming May 31, live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, at 9 p.m. ET. And this time, you're in charge of picking the nominees. Head over to the Movie Awards site and vote now.
